today's tens of millions in assets, RSB has
grown with Readlyn from being a stop along
the Great Western Railroad to the thriving,
vibrant community it is today.
- 1904
Readlyn, Iowa founded and Readlyn Savings Bank established
- 1929 Great Depression but RSB survives and thrives
- 1933 Readlyn Semi-Pro State Baseball champs – trophy displayed at RSB
- 1943 First female employee was Glenyce Bruns;
- 1945 Janice Heineman; 1954 Grace Kuethe
- 1961-62 The first RSB modernization & remodel
- 1979 Drive-up facilities added
- 1983 “Country” filmed in Readlyn and inside RSB; Lois Ganske’s line: “Jim…”
- 1986 Burton Stumme retires after 53 years
- 1997 The “New” RSB facilities are constructed
- 2004 RSB and Readlyn celebrate 100 years!

- 2010 Readlyn Grump Trail: RSB donates $10,000 & sponsors return of the 10-Man Bike
